This beautiful boho chic invitation can also be used for a baby shower invitation, engagement party invitation, birthday party invitation, rehearsal dinner invitation.
If you wish to encourage a single friend to invite a guest, find out the guest’s name, especially if the couple is engaged, living in the same house, or seeing each other on an exclusive basis. If they live at different addresses, it is considerate to send an invitation to the guest directly. In this modern day many people still use double wedding envelopes, but an increasing number do not. So the question of how to add “and guest” often comes up.
Outer envelope to “Mr. James Smith”
Inner envelope to “Mr. James Smith and guest.”
It’s always nice if you can put the actual guests’ name on the envelope instead of the impersonal “and guest”. But I know that’s not always possible. It is definitely okay to write “Mr. James Smith and guest.” on the envelope.
However, if you do not want to use “and guest” on the envelope you can include a short note with your invitation: “Dear James, “We hope you can come! If you’d like to bring a guest, you’re certainly welcome to.” Best, Laura.”
It’s that time of year again. The days are getting shorter, and businesses are starting to ramp up for the holiday season. As for me, I’ve been working on my 2015 Holiday/ Christmas Invitation Collection. Take a peek here:http://etsy.me/1UFnQ2X

I was so delighted to receive a wonderful wedding review on Wedding Wire and Yelp this week from a wonderful couple who were married recently in October. I simply loved their retro beach wedding invitation that we created.
Here is what the couple had to say about their wedding experience with Inviting Invites:
Congratulations to Courtney and Christopher who had a beautifully elegant wedding at the iconic Hotel del Coronado on May 2, 2015.
With Courtney’s inspiration we created a vintage elegant wedding stationery suite from beginning to end. It started with the color palette of shimmering soft pink, luxurious gold and ivory. Their reception was in the magical setting of the Hotel del Coronado Crown Room so we used the crown motif to accent the stationery. See how it all came together in the photos below.
I pulled in some of the elements from the invitation onto the Wedding Program and Menu design. Courtney also had the wonderful idea to feature interesting facts about Hotel del Coronado.
You’re getting married! You’re ordering your wedding invitations! You’re so excited!
We understand. It’s easy to get caught up in the dreaminess of the paper, design, color, foil, envelope and embellishment options for wedding invitations. So easy, in fact, that mistakes can get overlooked in the whirlwind.
Promise us that you’ll double- and triple-check all the details so you’ll avoid making these top 5 wedding invitation mistakes.
1. Choosing a design that doesn’t match your theme
If you’re having a rustic barn wedding and send a wedding invitation with pearl-embossed roses and candles as the design, guests will be confused about what to expect on your big day. Make sure your invite sets the tone for your celebration.
2. Cramming too much copy on the invitation
You don’t have to say it all on the invitation. Your names, the hosts’ names, the date, time and location are what should be printed on the invitation. Reception cards, response cards and accommodation cards are for getting that specific info to your guests.
We’ve seen it all. The groom’s name spelled wrong. The right month, but the wrong day. The location missing from the wording. Letters in simple words like “the” transposed to “teh.” Spell check. Proofread. Ask your writer friend to proofread. Check again. Check one more time. Make sure it’s right before you send to print.
4. Forgetting stamps on response envelopes
You’re asking guests to reply to your invitations. When you put stamps on the response envelopes, it’ll make it super-easy for them to pop their replies in the mail.
5. Not putting enough postage on the invitations
…and having all of your invitations returned to you. Nightmare. Before you drop your invites in the mail, take one to the post office, fully assembled, with all the enclosure cards and envelopes and seals attached, to find out exactly how much postage you’ll need.
Now – get back to the whirlwind and get those invites in the mail!
Ashley and Kyle were married May 23, 2015 in San Diego, California. And, it was my pleasure to work with Ashley on her wedding invitation suite. She fell in love with the Vision of Love wedding invitation design. The embossed, laser-cut lace design of the wrap is as fine as any lace adorning a wedding gown or veil. And that is exactly why Ashley fell in love with it. When her guests received their wedding invitation in the mail, I’m sure it felt as though they were unwrapping a beautiful gift.
The embossed filigree pattern on the front of this pearl shimmer wrap flows into a laser cut design, which opens to introduce wedding details printed on an ecru card. The bottom of the invitation was personalized with the saying “Once Upon a Dream”. To enhance the elegance of the invitation a shimmering Swarovski crystal was added to the front of the invitation, a gold filigree liner accented the envelope and the bride affixed a gold wax seal. Coordinating wedding programs and escort were also specially designed to match the invitation suite.
Ashley and Kyle’s exquisite wedding was held at The Hilton Bay Front and the reception was at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The beautiful photos are from www.Savoringthesweetlife.com.
